Marbella. Heart of the Costa del Sol.
Marbella is "A Way of Life" and, certainly, this luxurious resort town seems to have it all and is, once again, rising to the fore as a favourite location for the rich and famous.
Be sure to explore narrow streets where homes and shops create the atmosphere of a small village, rather than a cosmopolitan town, there are numerous excellent restaurants to choose from. Back towards is the La Alameda park where you can stroll on towards the sea along the Avenida del Mar. Puerto Banus. The best night life in Spain.
Puerto Banus is located just west of Marbella, before you reach San Pedro de Alcantara. This is the place to be pampered yachtside and fabulous luxury yachts. The setting is close to ideal, with its impressive mountain backdrop and ocean views. Since its inception some forty years ago, the port has steadily grown and now features a Casino, a Corte Ingles store and a multi cinema with films shown with their original soundtrack.
Every Saturday morning at Puerto Banus by the bullring is a very popular street market where you can pick up all sorts of bargains.
Estepona Western Costa del Sol.
Estepona has maintened its old charm and character, all the tourist facilities are here, including hotels, restaurants, leisure and cultural activities, and shops. The numerous street cafes and tapas bars still serve traditional Spanish delicacies and the steep, cobbled, narrow streets seem more suited to horses than cars. After midnight Friday, Saturday and during the summer season the Marina comes alive. Abundance of night clubs and discos seem to materialise from nowhere. Most of them cater for the young and energetic till the early (and not so early) hours of the morning.
Puerto la Duquesa. Western Costa del Sol.
The Port of Duquesa really is one of the best kept secrets of the Costa del Sol, located between Estepona and Sotogrande.Nestled on either side of the port of Duquesa are two unspoilt blue flagged beaches with its many water sport activities.
